A Civics Test

Another sigh of what is wrong with our country, our leaders are fundelmentally clueless.

US elected officials scored abysmally on a test measuring their civic knowledge, with an average grade of just 44 percent, the group that organized the exam said Thursday.

Ordinary citizens did not fare much better, scoring just 49 percent correct on the 33 exam questions compiled by the Intercollegiate Studies Institute (ISI).

If you are curious, the test is here, and it isn't that hard.

You answered 32 out of 33 correctly — 96.97 %

Average score for this quiz during November: 78.0%
Average score: 78.0%

So you have to wonder how our leaders did so poorly.

I'm going to take a wild guess that "self-identified elected officials" equated more to School Board Officials and Housing Community Committee members than it did to any particular Government official.

If Government officials know anything, it is how to avoid situations that expose their ignorance.

Shamed that I only hit 81.82%. The only highlight is the questions missed were historical facts and not constitutional or law related. Maybe I should run for office after taking a history refresher class?

Sadly enough I am terribly average with a mere 79.7, econonmics always screw me up because I tend to answer the way things should work instead of how they work...oh well, just being the idealist I am.
