Now, lets hope, all our students will actually develop an understanding of who he was and what he stood for.
In a recent survey of college students on U.S. civic literacy, more than 81 percent knew that the Rev. Martin Luther King Jr. was expressing hope for "racial justice and brotherhood" in his historic "I Have a Dream" speech.
That's the good news.
Most of the rest surveyed thought King was advocating the abolition of slavery.

If you listen to the news reports, it appears that the Rev. Martin Luther King Jr. slept a lot. At least, all they seem to talk about him doing is a lot of dreaming. Nothing about organizing strikes, or conducting marches, or advocating social justice and a society oriented around people, not material things. Lots of dreaming though. Guess he musta died well-rested, eh?
