Kirk Cameron, America's Idiot Crybaby

Last week Kurt opened his mouth and removed all doubt about his idiocy. He decided that yet another verbal attack on gays was just what the world needed. So he decided to make a bunch of unsubstantiated and dubious claims about morality and history. When others stepped into the discussion Cameron felt the need to cry on shoulders of the loyal wacks at  World Nuts Daily News with a letter of complaint.

“I believe that freedom of speech and freedom of religion go hand-in-hand in America,” he continues. “I should be able to express moral views on social issues – especially those that have been the underpinning of Western civilization for 2,000 years – without being slandered, accused of hate speech and told from those who preach ‘tolerance’ that I need to either bend my beliefs to their moral standards or be silent when I’m in the public square.

Now, it's time to step back and explain to Kirk that free speech is a two way street; And yes, he does have the right to say as many stupid things as he wants, but other have the right to call him an idiot and point and laugh at his foolishness, and he does have the right to cry about that, and I have the right to laugh at that.

This latest crying jag is what the right loves to do, make hateful, inflammatory, false and stupid statements and when called out for it, act as if this was somehow an effort to destroy free speech. The facts of the issue are rather different; the 1st amendment only restricts the state (government at all levels) from trying to restrict speech. In addition I would point out to Kirk that no one was preventing him from speaking; only making fun of him after he did it.

And I do not think there could ever be anything illegal with that, it provides too much fun for the rest of us.
