Noticing The Obvious, At Last

You just have to wonder why it took three years for these two clowns to notice that mistakes were made in Iraq.

Washington: More than three years after sending their troops to invade Iraq, President George W. Bush and British Prime Minister Tony Blair cannot escape questions about their decision to go to war even as they acknowledge far-reaching mistakes.
{bold mine}

Bush and Blair still refuse to even consider the prime mistake, attacking Iraq, and the use of false pretenses to justify that attack.

Hubris and ignorance, a combination found in both Bush and Blair that has led us into a vast swath of quicksand with no clear way out.

UPDATE
Juan Cole adds some notes on the pres conference.
