U.S. military commanders have moved about 1,500 combat troops from a reserve force in Kuwait into the volatile Anbar province in western Iraq to help local authorities establish order there.
The move, announced Tuesday by military commanders, comes as Iraqi officials continue to struggle to set up their government, amid new spikes in violence.
Granted, the talk is of force reductions within the theater of operations, and this is a redeployment of assets already in theater; It does show that all the happy talk of troop reduction and Iraqis taking the lead is still only talk and that reality is still very different.

I agree, the "happy" talk happened in the Vietnam era too, and we all know how that turned out.

Great blog. I didn't even realize this myself, whats going on here exactly?
You know, Dum Dum has to prove himself by sending "an Army of one" in. I still wonder when the Bush twins are going. Ya know, because the war is so justified.
