Colin Powell and $150,000,000.00

Obama has had a very good weekend. Over 100,000 people showed up in St. Louis to hear him, and then 70,000 saw him in Kansas City.

People want to hear what he has to say.

Then we hear that Obama has raised $150,000,000.00 for his campaign in the last month. This is amazing, but what is more amazing is that he did this with an average donation of only $88.00. Over 600,000 new donors pitched in what they could afford to fund this effort. It is astounding and heartwarming. Overall we are looking at something like 3 million donors giving less that $100.00 each. This main street speaking with their pocket books.

And to top it off Powell, a favorite of the Republicans, not only announced that he endorsed Obama, but also endorsed his tax policy and condemned McCain's choice as a running mate (the not very bright Sarah Palin).

You could not script a weekend that was a favorable as this one was.

It was like nailing the last nail in the coffin of McCain's political hopes. Let's just hope it resonates.
