and it will go higher.
New Orleans process or handles about 1/3 to 1/2 of the gas etc for the US. The Gulf fields produce huge amounts of oil for the US.
New Orleans may be shut down for a while, and or 60% of the Gulf fields may be damaged.
Gas will not be getting cheaper any time soon.

Yet one more reason to free ourselves from our oil addiction. We have the technology and the knowledge. We just need leadership from someone to do it.
