Paul Hackett's run for congress reaches it's climax today.
In 12 hours we will know who will get this historically republican seat. No matter the final vote tally, this is a huge victory for Democrats. In a district where Democratic candidates don't get 30% of the vote, Paul has moved with striking range. In a district that Republicans thought they could win on auto pilot, they have been forced to spend hundreds of thousands of extra dollars.
Thank you Paul, and the people on his team. Excellent work, you are what this nation needs to turn us off this Bush path of destruction.

John, given the recent history of the Ohio electoral process (see Mark Crispin Miller's piece “None Dare Call it Stolen” in the August 2005 issue of Harper's Magazine), it will take not just an electoral majority, but a divine intervention. I'm praying for one, not because I think that Democrats are the "real Christians", but because I long for justice.
I fear you are right, but just being able to fight the good fight in this district is a good sign.
All he has to do is crack 40% and he is going to do a world of good as a prototype for our Congressional candidates in 2006. The lady he is running against is a certified troll.
You keep up the good work next door in SC, now ya hear?
Hey, did you hear? The "certified troll" won! Let's hear it for multicultural diversity.
She did, and she should have won.
The average seperation in the districts congressional elections in least decade has been about 50 points. In the Presidential election the spread was about 35 points (and the winner there was also a troll. These two winning elections make it clear that some people like supporting crooks and liers, sometimes even a majority of people).
To get within 4 point in that district is a profound success.
