Compassionate Conservatives, in Their Own Words

Can you not just feel the love and concern in their words and actions.

"We finally cleaned up public housing in New Orleans. We couldn't do it, but God did."

House Speaker J. Dennis Hastert (R-Ill.) recently spoke of bulldozing part of New Orleans, they reminded everyone, and Sen. Rick Santorum (R-Pa.) suggested punishing people who had ignored pre-storm evacuation orders.

It just makes it clear how many of them think, if you are rich you are an American, if you are poor, we don't care about you. It is all about money, and using money to gain more power, to make more money.

They don't care about making a better nation for the people of this land, they only care about making the rich richer.

You know.....this is stupid. Are you trying to tell me republicans say and do moronic things and democrats don't? Politicians are politicians. They look out for one thing......the ole number one and you can't tell me that they don't. Every move they make is a photo op. Every word they utter is done so with a "spin" on it. They have their own bank and bounce checks then just get fussed at while normal citizens would be tossed into the local jail for it. They get tickets for driving while intoxicated but retain their driver's licenses and don't have to look at any jail time while a normal citizen would have his suspended and be sitting on a bench in the jail next to the check bouncer. Then, when push comes to shove, they don't look out for the nation, they look out for their personal interests. Personally, if I'm going to vote for a representative or senator to go to Washington, I'd prefer they do what's best for the country rather than what's best for one small area of the country (their constituancy). The biggest disease America has is the entire government and the cancer has spread so far we can't even cut it out and start over.

Democrats have sold out to corporate interests as well BUT under Clinton we had a solid economy, the poverty rate was falling, we were still respected around the world, and he left office with a balanced budget and a surplus.
Look what the Republicans have done to us.

Lynne you are right.

Both major parties pander to money interest, but at least with the democrats they did extend some effort to help raise the poor up.

The republicans just mork to make sure the major corporations and rich get richer, and stick it to the poor.

Social Security
Bankrupcy
Labor Laws

all the proposial of the Republicans grossly favor the rick over the poor.
