Just One Step From a Police State

Jose Padilla can be held, with out charges, with out legal recourse, according to the 4th Circuit. (talk about judicial activism, what an example this is.)

A federal appeals court ruled today that the president can indefinitely detain a U.S. citizen captured on U.S. soil in the absence of criminal charges, holding that such authority is vital to protect the nation from terrorist attacks.

I expect that we will soon learn that the bill of rights (except maybe the 2nd) no longer apply to the US.

IF he has committed a crime, take him to trial, convict him and lock him up.

If not, by the laws of this land, he must be set free, or we are no longer America.
