The Death Toll Will be Lower Than Expected

but it doesn't mean that there will not be horrific discoveries.

Yesterday 45 bodies were found in one hospital in New Orleans. From St. Bernard Parish we can add the 20 found at St. Rita's elder care facility, and the 22 who were found bound together in a Chalmette subdivision, who probably died while trying evacuate to safety.

Each a tragic, and in many cases an unnecessary loss, but far fewer that we feared initially.

At last, 16 days into the event help is reaching about everyone. It only leaves us to ask, why did it take 2 weeks.

I don't believe 45 people were dead before the evacuation. The death rate is not that high even in hospitals.
