The U.S. military will close Abu Ghraib prison, probably within three months, and transfer some 4,500 prisoners to other jails in Iraq, a military spokesman said on Thursday.
The prison in western Baghdad was a torture center under Saddam Hussein before photographs of American soldiers abusing Iraqis there in 2003 gave it a new notoriety
In other words, it was a torture center for BOTH Saddam Hussein and George Bush.

Anti-choice bill in SC!
Stop H.4790!
A bill that could outlaw abortion, that Citizens for Life calls “a stepping stone to overturning Roe v Wade”, has passed the Senate and is poised to pass the House as H.4790. We must try to stop it!
In the Senate, the bill was touted as a law-and-order bill, providing penalities for someone who commits a crime against a woman and in the process causes harm to her embryo. As soon as it passed, however, the real legislative intent became clear through a GOP press release which said “we have been able to further secure the rights of unborn children in this state”; “we have taken a significant step toward recognizing the sanctity of life”; and that a crime against an embryo “is a crime against a person”.

Lynne, it helps to state, in writing, that there are millions of unwanted babies brought into this world that wind up in dumpsters, left on the street in plastic trashbags to die slowly, public restroom waste cans, or sold for for organ harvesting. These anti-choice hacks do not understand the consequences of their actions other than their innate desire to exercise control over a woman by holding her womb hostage. It's disgusting.
