the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organisation warned on Wednesday that bird flu could become endemic in Turkey and that the virus may be spreading despite all the measures taken so far to control it. The outbreak has spread rapidly across the country in the past few days from its source in an isolated village in the east, and has now reached the outskirts of Istanbul and Ankara.
The trouble is the flu is spread by wild birds into domestic flocks, and you just can't stop wild bird migration.
