If Zarqawi and bin Laden gain control of Iraq, they would create a new training ground for future terrorist attacks; they'd seize oil fields to fund their ambitions; they could recruit more terrorists by claiming an historic victory over the United States and our coalition.
We had to invade Iraq, to protect the oil from a master terrorist (Zarqawi), who was an unknown petty thug (with no support and not at all active in Iraq) , until we attacked Iraq and gave him the opportunity to become the feared terrorist he now is.
That is one heck of a convoluted argument, we have to fight to protect the oil from a terrorist that was created by our attack, that we had to undertake to protect the oil from a terrorist who didn't exist until after we attacked to protect the oil from a terrorist that didn't exist, until after we attacked.
I am very dizzy now.
