Bush Poll Numbers Sink Further

President Bush's job approval was at 39 percent, the first time it has dipped below 40 percent since AP-Ipsos began measuring public approval of Bush in December 2003.

and from Zogby

Bush Job Approval Hits 41% All Time Low; Would Lose to Every Modern President

and Newsweek

the president's popularity and job-approval ratings have dropped across the board. Only 38 percent of Americans approve of the way Bush is doing his job overall, a record-low for this president in the NEWSWEEK poll. (Fifty-five percent of Americans disapprove of his overall job performance.) And only 28 percent of Americans say they are "satisfied with the way things are going"

UPDATE

and a fourth poll shows the same trend.

The bungled response to the hurricane has helped drag down Bush's job-approval rating, which now stands at 42 percent -- the lowest of his presidency -- in the Post-ABC poll and down three points since the hurricane hit two weeks ago. Fifty-seven percent disapprove of Bush's performance, a double-digit increase since January.

Even some members of Bush's own party appear to have lost faith in their leader: The president's overall approval rating among Republicans has declined from 91 percent in January to 78 percent in the latest poll.

A 13 percent drop in the kool-aid brigade should be very worrying to the Karl Rove crowd.

I find it a great disappointment that over 10% of Americans find him acceptable.

Try and email your disproval of his "feats of work" with Katrina. I was cut off not once, twice, but 3X. The key word I must have used was "not doing your job, or, A*****E".
