This weekend, while I was avoiding the news:
Terrorist in Egypt kill almost 100 people.
insurgents in Iraq a blowing up bombs, killing scores.
Mysterious illness in China killing farmers.
Lance Armstrong wins the Tour de France.
Lots of occurrences, but nothing new.
