The Wisdom of our US Senate

Well, only a month ago, the US Senate, after reviewing all the relevant data, checking the risk and cost, cut 33% from the budget aimed at securing mass transit in the US.

Now, after the London bombing they, in the infinite wisdom, have decided to revisit that decision.

WASHINGTON (AP) -- Three weeks before London's bus and subway bombings Thursday, a Senate committee voted to slash spending on mass transit security in the United States, a decision sure to be reversed when Congress returns next week.

What is totally amazing, was the Madrid attacks were only a year ago, and our Senators appear to have completely forgotten about those far more deadly atttacks.

Our Senate has short term memory loss. It depends on what mood the 'Little Master' is in. Good to read your blog. I've been with my high school sweetheart for 31 years. Ain't many of us fossils left. Great blog, man. Keep up the information. We're the only free media left.

i'm interested in who wanted to cut it, and what they decided to pay for instead. i can understand the "no amount of money can really do it" argument with transit security, but i'm guessing they just threw the savings down the halliburton hole, which is even less useful.

The saddest part is that the total ammount of money we are talking about would only pay for about 6 hours of operation in Iraq.
