Deadliest Month Since January

6 US soldiers were killed today in Iraq.

The six deaths bring the number of U.S. troops to have died in Iraq this month to 90, the highest number of American deaths there since January, when 107 Americans were killed. November 2004 saw the highest number of U.S. deaths in a single month -- 137.

What is scary is this has been a month with little open combat. This has been done with IEDs and other ambush tactics, while we are at an all time high in troop deployment.
