Another Bloody Day In Iraq

It has been relatively quiet for almost a week, but the killing has started again. Car-bombs and gunmen have killed dozens today.

Relative is the key word, Iraq was quiet by current Iraqi standards, but was still a very deadly and dangerous place. It is just that people were not being killed at the rate that attracted the media's notice.

One act that has gotten some notice if that an American reporter was kidnapped. The kidnappers have now laid down their terms, release the female Iraqi prisoners, or Jill Carroll dies.

In an interesting bit of timing, the Iraq's ministry of justice announced that six of the eight women being held by coalition forces in Iraq have been released early.

With this headline, I wonder if Bush is going to take off his rose colored glasses, and decide that the US is not making progress in Iraq. And how many young American soldiers must die before he goes over there and show them how it is done. Like he did during VietNam.
