Republican Culture Of Corruption - Ohio/DC

Another Republican who has ethics issues (may be facing jail time) has stepped back from his chairmanship.

WASHINGTON Jan 15, 2006 Rep. Bob Ney, an Ohio Republican implicated in a lobbying corruption investigation, said Sunday he will step aside temporarily as chairman of the House Administration Committee.

"Unfortunately it has become clear to me in recent days that the false allegations made against me have become a distraction to the important work of the House Republican Conference and the important work that remains ahead for the House Administration Committee," Ney said in a written statement.

They did a nice job spinning that denial of guilt into the statement, but I suspect Ney will be out of the house within the year.

Cunningham (R-Ca), DeLay (R-Tx), Libby (R-Administration) and Ney (R-Oh) have now had to take official actions as a result of their taint, and the investigations (yes that are at least 4 different crimes being investigated right now)continue.

Anyone notice a trend here, four different cases being investigated, four different criminal activities, yet all of the criminals appear to be from the same party; Republican.

Now that is a culture of corruption.
