CARACAS, Venezuela -- Cindy Sheehan, the peace activist who set up camp near President Bush's Texas ranch last summer, said Saturday she is considering running against Sen. Dianne Feinstein to protest what she called the California lawmaker's support for the war in Iraq.
It's a free country (for a little while more any way), but I think if she does this it will actually reduce her credibility.

I've been unhappy with Feinstein's stance on much lately, especially the Alito thing. It's good that someone is challenging her.
I wish more of these spineless Dems were being challenged.
How this will effect her and how she is percievied in months to come will depend a lot on how she runs (if she actualy runs).
Right now she is a mother who has lost a son. If she stays focused on that she is hard to attack, but unapealing to many voters. Once you get into a political arena you have to express a rainbow of ideas to attract votes.
This step alone lessens the impact as an 'everymom' that she has at this time.
Her choices are to be a very focused single issue canidate and not get much serious traction, or to make your positions known, lose your 'everymom' status, and open yourself up to attack on those other issues that weaken your strengths in your primary mission.
Stoping the war.
I wish her well, but think it could be a huge mistake.
