The Cost Goes Up

The benefits decline.

We are not just talking about you health insurance plan.

The Congressional Research Service has just come up with some new numbers on the war. Bush's Global War on a tactic of war (Terrorism) is now costing the US taxpayers about $7,000,000,000.00 (billion) a month, with about 86%, or 6 Billion being spent in Iraq every month.

$6,000,000,000.00 (billion) a month, being spent on Bush's war of choice, built on a foundation of lies.

another study also presents this happy bit of news;

A separate study by the Congressional Budget Office found it will be difficult for the Pentagon to sustain current troop levels in Iraq and Afghanistan without rotating troops into the war zone more frequently and using more National Guard brigades. And even those steps will not be adequate long-term solutions.

Bush is driving up the debt to record levels, and destroying the army at the same time. That has to be some kind of record for stupidity or ineptness.

Well at least we should be able to take some solace that, with us spending so much in Iraq, we are laying a solid base for the Iraqis to work with. Unfortunately that is not the case.

"American money has dried up," says Brent Rose, chief of program/project management for the Army Corps of Engineers in southern Iraq.

And tracking the billions of dollars that flooded into a war zone in the wake of the U.S.-led invasion has proved difficult, too. Nearly $100 million in reconstruction money is unaccounted for.

As has been noted earlier, Republicans are the poster children for ineptitude and corruption.

And all the pro-military people like my dad who voted for Bush must be privately gnashing their teeth. I told my dad several years ago that I was outraged because I was paying attention.
"Uh huh," he said in that slightly amused way of his.
Uh huh is right. Look what is happening to your precious military.
