The Lesson of the Boy Who Cried Wolf

has been lost on the republicans leading us.

At the end of last week we had all the news media focused on a threat to the subway system on New York. Now we learn the claim was false, made up.

When you have a valid threat you have to respond, but you have a reasonable expectation that the threat is valid. When you over react to your information, people will stop listening.

Another example of speech that will backfire if it continues was the presidents speech last week. Bush stressed his great successes in this war on terror. The left, having heard this song and dance before, started to look at these claims, and found many of them highly dubious.

Now the LA Times has joined in, and makes it clear that Bush was again being at best deceitful in his claims.

One day we will need the people to react to defend a city, one day we will have real news that the people need to know and believe and because of past decisions by our current leaders this may not happen.

i still remember feb. 03 when they told folks in d.c. and n.y. to get their duct tape ready. i went to d.c. then. i remember seeing colin on the tube showing metal containers and stuff while one of the largest blizzards in u.s. history blew through.

funny how we didn't hear a whole lot about duct tape for about three days.

blatant manipulation to perpetuate the shell game.

The loss of fear is a two edged sword. First the tale of the boy crying wolf will deteriorate confidence in the little boy's awareness skills. (Bush)

But second, this repeated false impression just might build a sense of fatalistic confidence in the American population. That is until the senate resolution #392fool832me is passed by a Republican majority, .."...the prohibiting of inflicting harm onto GOP citizens..." when it will be illegal to harm republicans for whatever reason, foreign or domestic.
