Iraq, Another Bloody Day

The bombings continue. A UK patrol was hit today, Killing one, and wounding four. More US troops have also died, as have about 50 civilians.

We are now in the middle of a civil war, fighting for the Shia against the Sunni. The question that it appears no one can clearly answer is why.

It is good to see that the war in Iraq is again in the center stage, I do hope that some of the defenders of the war can rise above the worn-out slogans about not cutting and running, and making the sacrifice matter; We have to have a reasonable and achievable goal. Without a clear examination of where we are, where we are going, and what our final objective is, we are doomed to spend decades bleeding into the sand.

Just like the absurd Global War on a Battle Tactic, the war in Iraq must be redefined or abandoned.
