Blair Takes Another Fall

In his first ever defeat, Blair's forces lost a parliamentary vote and his new terrorism laws were not approved.

Tony Blair has suffered his first defeat after MPs rejected his plan to allow police to detain terror suspects without charge for up to 90 days. MPs rejected the plans by a bigger than expected margin of 322 votes to 291

An compromise allowing police to hold without charges for 28 days was later approved.

While this was his first failed vote, Blair's office has stressed this was not a confidence issue, so he will not have to stand down from his position.

It was certainly not a defeat for Blair. The Labour Party morons who voted against the measure were only scoring a stupid point against Blair for their narrow partisan ends. That is why,the cretins later supported a measure raising the duration of the detention ,whish is what Blair wanted in the first place.
