Al-Jazeera, which is launching an English-language network with Washington as a major hub, has landed its first big-name Western journalist: David Frost. And the veteran BBC interviewer says he's perfectly comfortable with the unlikely marriage.
It will be interesting to see how this new project works out.
Al-Jazeera gets denounced by the US for how they broadcast the news. They have been giving equal time to the ideas of both the US and their Islamic foes. The US see this as offering aid and comfort, but Al-Jazeera claims it is their responsability as journalist to give both sides of the story.
If the english language version of the network gets much traction, the response of the White House will be fun to watch.
