The Peace Prize Goes To IAEA

and Mohamed ElBaradei.

This group served a higher purpose since it's inception. Trying to prevent the spread of nuclear weapons, while overseeing the peaceful uses of nuclear technology.

That having been said, I am not sure doing your job, even a noble job, is what this award is about. I suspect that standing up to the US, and it's claims about weapons on mass destruction in Iraq, and the US later efforts to isolate Iran, help to place these two into the top spot for this award. In that regard it is a little saddening that a person and a group was award a peace prize for standing up against the US.

It is not sad that ElBaradei and the IAEA were resisting a drive to war, but that the US was leading that drive.
