Comercial Supersonic Flight, Only a Generation Away

The age of faster-than-sound commercial travel took a step back from the grave yesterday when Japan used a rocket to test fly a scale model of a proposed supersonic jetliner from the Woomera rocket range, in South Australia's outback.

With 300 passengers there is a reasonable chance that this aircraft would make high speed air transport viable. The next question is will Airbus, or Boeing get involved with this project, or will Japan be the next nation making airliners.
