Jim Rex For SC Superintendent of Education

Democrats In The South has an excellent write up about him and his effort to become superintendent of education.

A few highlights:

Dr. Rex was a high school teacher, a football coach, Dean of Education at both Winthrop and Coastal Carolina Universities, Vice President for Development and Alumni Relations and Vice President of University Advancement at the University of South Carolina.

{snip}

For a man who just became a politician in the last couple of months, Dr. Jim Rex is extremely articulate, polished, and level headed. He will be a tremendous asset to this state as our next Superintendent of Education.

He is what everyone claims they want in elected officials; Not a career party hack, but a citizen, who has solid knowledge about the area he will be working in.

Glad you enjoyed the piece. I've met Dr. Rex on a number of occasions and have been impressed with him every time. Not only does he have picture perfect qualifications, but he is willing fight back and fight hard as a Democrat. That is a rare trait in Democrats running for office in South Carolina, and Robert Barber, running for Lieutenant governor is a wonderful candidate as well. He is certainly a man who should be governor one day. Anyway, thanks for reading.
