More Republican Lies About Science

When you don't like the facts, just make the up. That appears to be Rush Limbaugh's approach to science.

He was busy spinning a tinfoil cap theory about abortion and embryonic stem cells, he came out with this spectacular lie.

"because you need abortions to get these [embryos]."

The reality is the cells in question are formed in vitro (testtube) and are, at this time, a medical byproduct of fertility clinics. He spins this lie to convince his followers that these two subjects are somehow related, and trys to use this lie to weaken the support for stem cell research.

While only about 55% of the population are pro-choice, about two thirds of the population is in favor of embryonic stem cell research. It is clear that he is trying to tie the two together in an effort to sway public opinion, and is lying to do this.

Or he is just stupid, and to lazy to do thirty seconds of research.

Later in the show he then takes a page from Peggy Noonan ( see below ), and criticizes science. Another lie, and an attack on using an intellectual and non-ideological approach to an issue. Traditional acts from a play book that relies on lies, and distortion to motivate it's followers.
