Bush is thrilled, the national deficit is now just under a three hundred billion dollars. He thinks that having the 4th highest deficit ever is a success. Since the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd highest deficits also belong to George, I can see why he is claiming victory. Our spending 34 million dollars an HOUR more than we bring in is an improvement over his past performance.
Of course, when Bush came into office, we had a surplus of nearing 300 billion dollars.
A net reversial of over $500,000,000,000.00 dollars, and he thinks this is good news.

I fear that the bottom has got to fall out of the bucket at some point. Bush is dragging your country into some very dangerous territory with his determination to funnel the countries money from the poor (i.e. the govt revenue) to the rich.
And I used to think that conservatives stood for fiscal restraint!
I really do not understand the whole defecit thing. The Federal Government spends in the negative numbers. Continuously spending money they dont have. I would be arrested by said Government for doing what they are doing.
Democrat and Republican alike are responsible for this behavior. The spending doesnt happen without their vote. And this Crap about the Republicans controlling the Senate and the House is all crap. There are as many Liberal Republicans as there are conservative Democrats. All the Hand shaking and deal making to align and trade their votes so to the voters in their Districts, they appear guiltless. The Sheeple of this nation need to wake up and vote the whole damn bunch of them out of office. Career Politicians will bring this nation down. There is no reason for a 12 term Senator or Congressman to work into his 80s. Most people are trying to figure out ways to get their elderly parents to stop driving, and get them into painting classes and Bingo at the Senior Center. Not how to get them re-elected to a Job that needs dedication and serious commitment to migrate through the Throngs of Lobbyists with Deep Pockets and many back door ways to compensate for their votes.
Education seems to be a theme here with everything political doesnt it. They legislate the people where they want them, we go along with it re-electing them over and over again based on name recognition for the most part.
Education is the true answer to our problems.
Birth Control and Abstinance for the abortion issue. Teach these people simple math. Your income is this, your cost of living is this. A child cost this. For every child you need this much more income. If the Government gives you no Money for Welfare, how do you get by?
Low voting numbers. Without you the process does not work. You sit and Bitch about how the Government works here and there according to the issues in your life. When you vote for a Candidate that has your issues in mind. Its a good Vote. The argument, "Well my vote is only one and it doesnt count anyway" But the ones getting the Government handout Bitch its not enough. The ones not getting it Bitch its too much. Educate all these people where their Vote counts and the Government Process.
Shipping our Jobs overseas and importing workers. When did this ever become a good idea? Buy American! Yeah if you can afford it. With no income because of "lack of Jobs" or low paying Jobs, how are people supposed to buy the goods and services being produced by Exported production - Imported goods?
Who wants to buy the more expensive American products? When the company has a union telling it that they have to pay a guy 35 dollars an hour to put on a Glove Box Knob?
Insurance that insures you against nothing. Medical insurance that has 400 dollar a Month Premiums, a 1000 dollar deductible, and a 20% Co-pay. Not to mention the procedures they opt not to cover. You need an Attorney to decipher your Policy. But... the Insurance has one of the largest Lobbies in the Nation.
They wanted to impliment a Fat Tax. Apparently the people are not educated enough to know when to stop eating, and what to eat instead of Fast Food. But we need to tax something since the Tobacco cash cow is running dry.
We spend "allegedly" the most of any nation on Education. Yet we have the highest Drop out numbers, the lowest number of High school Graduates attending higher education. And the lowest test scores of even some third world countries.
We have a President that cant even string together a sentence let alone pronounce his words. But we laugh about it. Then Vote for the war, before we voted against it.
